Workshop with writer Isabel Cole

The "Waldschaffen" seeks to encourage Berlin's artists to participate in forest projects and to reflect on their experiences in their creative practice. For example, Isabel has organized the poetry workshop "Wald pflanzen, Wald schreiben" ("Plant the Forest, Write about the Forest") several times in cooperation with the Berlin Poetry House and the poet Birgit Kreipe.

Isabel has long been involved in volunteer projects focusing on forests and nature. In 2020, she founded the project waldschaffen.de to build a bridge between culture and forestry

At an online event during the ‘City of the Future. Green Transformation’ project Isabel will talk about the project waldschaffen.de. During the discussion afterwards, we will discuss together how we can combine artistic visions of the forest with new ecological approaches, traditional forestry or the forest dwellers themselves? Is it possible to find common ground to overcome social differences and reach an ecological consensus?
